Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Tuesday directed an immediate rescue operation in aid of civil administration for victims of earthquake in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that army aviation helicopters have completed aerial survey for damage assessment in Mirpur, Jarikas and Jatlan areas. It said the army troops with aviation and medical support teams have reached the earthquake-hit areas of Mirpur, Jatlan and Jarikas following the directions of the COAS. The statement added that rescue efforts are underway in the earthquake-hit areas.
